Marie - Age 72 - Cundiyo Vigil

MARIE E. VIGIL, 72, a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister and friend went to her eternal home peacefully surrounded by her family on Wednesday, June 6, 2012. She was preceded in death by her parents, Estevan and Clarita Trujillo and beloved sister, Feliz Salazar. Mrs. Vigil is survived by her loving husband of 45 years, Jake Vigil; children, Ron Vigil and wife Rose, Melissa Turano and husband Jeffrey and Monique Turano and husband Paul; beloved grandson, Javier Vigil who was like a son to her as well as seven additional grandchildren, Leanne, Megan, Dylan, Aubri, Amaryse, Ava and Jake; sister, Lucy Trujillo and husband Juan; brothers, Nestor Trujillo and wife Nora, Julian Trujillo and wife Helen, Toby Trujillo and wife Elsie; brother-in-law, Alfonso Salazar; sister-in-law, Vera Sams and husband Ken and numerous nieces, nephews and many other loving relatives and friends. Marie was born in Rio Chiquito and was a lifelong resident of Cundiyo. A devoted catholic and the Celedora of Cundiyo for the Holy Family. She was an artist and master weaver who participated in the Spanish Market and was a member of the Spanish Colonial Arts Society. She enjoyed gardening, cooking and spending many treasured moments with her family. Public visitation will begin on Friday, June 8, 2012 at 6:30 p.m. in the Sangre de Cristo Chapel of DeVargas Funeral Home & Crematory with a rosary to be recited at 7:00 p.m. Mass of Christian burial to be celebrated on Saturday, June 9, 2012 at 10:00 a.m. at the Holy Family Catholic Church in Chimayo. Burial to follow at the Cundiyo Catholic Cemetery with the following serving as pallbearers, Julio Trujillo, Javier and Randy Vigil, Sammy, Steve, Vernon and Allen Trujillo and John Salazar. In lieu of flowers contributions can be made in her honor to the Coalition for Pulmonary Fibrosis at www.pulmonaryfibrosis.org/donate. The family of Marie E. Vigil has entrusted their loved one to DeVargas Funeral Home & Crematory of the Española Valley.
