MARIANO MONTOYA, 83, a resident of Española went to be with the Lord on Tuesday, August 30, 2016. He was a veteran and served in Korea. My Sheep hear my voice, and I know them, and they follow me: And I give unto them eternal life; and they shall never perish. Mariano enjoyed fishing and spending time with his family. He was preceded in death by his sons, Andy, Michael and Geno Montoya; daughter, Henry Martinez; granddaughters, Andrea and Sheyann. Mr. Montoya is survived by his children, Sandra and Eppie, Marian and Bob, Josie and Angel, Gracie and Candido, Bobby and Doug, Andrew, Johnny and Justina, Mark, Phil and Margaret and Benny; beloved granddaughters, Stephanie, Samantha, Savannah, Michelle, Angela, Sara, Amber, Kim, and Nola; beloved grandsons, Sebastian, Devan, Adrian, Izik, Michael, Ezekiel and James and numerous other relatives and friends. A devotional service will be held on Wednesday, September 7, 2016 at 5:00 p.m. in the Sangre de Cristo Chapel of DeVargas Funeral Home & Crematory. Funeral service will be held on Thursday, September 8, 2016 at 8:30 a.m. also in the Sangre de Cristo Chapel of DeVargas Funeral Home & Crematory. Burial to follow at 9:45 a.m. at the Santa Fe National Cemetery with the following serving as pallbearers, Edgar G., Leland Romero, Isaiah Morales, Alex Perez, Kenneth Montoya and Isaiah, Timothy and Angel Finley. Honorary pallbearers named are: Eppie Leon Martinez, Angel Perez, Robert Romero, and Douglas Johnson. The family of Mariano Montoya has entrusted the care of their loved one to the DeVargas Funeral Home & Crematory of the Espanola Valley.
