Maria Alicia Renee Archuleta, 85 years old, born on May 15, 1928 in Hernandez, New Mexico. Renee went to meet her creator and loving husband, Severito on Tuesday, May 21, 2013. Renee was born to Salomon and Veroniz Gallegos from Hernandez. Renee was married to Severito in 1944 and was married for 29 years. Renee was preceded in death by Severito in 1973 and 3 grandchildren: Billy Jo Archuleta in 1972, Lori Ann Archuleta in 1978 and Larry Maestas in 1986; 1 great-granddaughter, Anastasia Duran in 2009 and 1 great great-granddaughter, Denise Archuleta in 2008. Renee was a very devoted Catholic and had a strong faith; she was known to recite the rosary for many people and friends in the community. Renee had an ultimate love for her family. They were always the center of her life. Renee belonged to the San Antonio Society in Medanales and was known to recite the rosary for many years. Renee is survived by 9 sons and 2 daughters: David Archuleta and wife Sheila of Chamita, Frances Maestas and husband Leroy of Abiquiu, Kino Archuleta and wife Lena of Medanales, Gary Archuleta and wife Greg of Santa Fe, Kelly Archuleta of Medanales and companion Bernie Montoya, Jerry Archuleta and wife Lorraine of La Puebla, Randy Archuleta and wife Yolanda of Ohio, Bob Archuleta and wife Mary of Medanales, Ronnie Archuleta of Alcalde, Tommy Archuleta of Medanales and companion Jean, Brenda Martinez and husband Julian of Medanales; niece like a daughter, Rosalie Maestas of Chimayo; 3 sisters-in-law: Amada Gallegos of Chili, Eppie Archuleta of Terra Azul and Mela Vigil of El Llano; 30 grandchildren; 56 great-grandchildren; 11 great great-grandchildren; 2 god-daughters: Gladys Archuleta and Renee Torrez; numerous other loving nephews, nieces, relatives & friends. Public visitation will be held on Thursday, May 23, 2013 at 6:00 p.m. in the Sangre de Cristo Chapel of Devargas Funeral Home & Crematory with a rosary to follow at 7:00 p.m. A second rosary will be recited on Friday, May 24, 2013 at 7:00 p.m. at San Antonio de Padua Catholic Church in Medanales. Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated on Saturday, May 25, 2103 at 10:00 a.m. at San Antonio de Padua Catholic Church in Medanales with burial to follow at Medanales Catholic Cemetery with the follow serving the family as pallbearers: Christopher Archuleta, Leroy Maestas Jr., Jerry Archuleta, Gary Archuleta Jr., Jerry Archuleta Jr., Raymond Archuleta, Marcos Archuleta and Cody Martinez; honorary pallbearers will be all her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. The family of Maria Alicia Renee Archuleta have entrusted the care of their loved one to DeVargas Funeral Home & Crematory of the Española Valley.
