Maria A. Age - 75 - La Mesilla Martinez

Maria A. Martinez, Age 75, passed away peacefully in her La Mesilla home, Saturday, September 24, 2011. Her husband Juan Ruben Martinez was at her side, as he had always been through their 56 years of marriage. Maria was preceded in death by her parents, Seferino and Elvira Valdez; brother, Anselmo Valdez and daughter, Terry Valdez, of Nambe. Maria was the loving mother of 3 children: Ruby O’Rear, married to Richard O’Rear of Jemez Springs, Johnny Martinez, Suzanne Jared married to Randall Jared of Dallas, Texas. She took great joy in assisting in the raising of 2 grandchildren, Celina Trujillo and John Martinez, along with their Mother Sally Martinez of Arroyo Seco, whom she loved as one of her own children. Maria was grandmother to 5 other children: Catherine Castaneda, Angelo Gonzales, Brandi O’Rear, Shawn and Ryan Jared. Great grandmother of 6 children: Bruce, David and Elizabeth Tafoya; Damian Trujillo; Adalynn Rose Gonzales, and Mario Santos Castaneda. Memorial service will be held on Saturday, October 1, 2011 at 9:00 a.m. at La Iglesia de Santa Cruz de la Cañada with burial to follow at Holy Cross Catholic Cemetery. The family of Maria A.
