MARIA ELENA VILLAREAL, 36, a resident of Espanola, passed away on Tuesday, May 3, 2016. Maria Elena was preceded in death by her father, Robert Villareal; maternal grandma, Lugarda Valdez; maternal grandfather, Jose G. Valdez, paternal grandmother, Elsa Villareal. Maria Elena was a wonderful mother, daughter, sister and friend. She is survived by her son, Abram Estrada; mother, Felima Villareal; sister, Janice Valdez and companion Ernesto Coronado and their children, Jana Valdez, Ernesto and Mia Coronado; brother, Joseph Valdez and wife Alanna; nephew, Aaron Valdez, niece, Aubrey Valdez; her companion, Manuel Baldonado; step-son, Matthew Baldonado, Friend Like a sister, Janelle Chavez and her children, Sativa and Trinity Chavez-Valdez and many other family friends and relatives. A rosary will be recited on Thursday, May 12, 2016 at 7:30 p.m. at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Española. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Friday, May 13, 2016 at 11:00 a.m. also at Sacred Heart Catholic Church with burial to follow at the Alcalde Catholic Cemetery. The family of Maria Elena Villareal has entrusted the care of their loved one to the DeVargas Funeral Home & Crematory of the Espanola Valley.
