Maria Hortencia “Tencha” Sanchez de Nolasco, 64 of Alcalde, N.M., was called to heaven on September 6, 2024. 

Tencha was survived by husband Daniel Sanchez Jr.; son Danny Sanchez III; daughters Vanessa Sanchez and Ariana Sanchez with 3 Grandsons, and 2 Granddaughters (Terrance, Daniel, Arlette, Maria, and Andres). She will always be remembered by her family Nolasco. 

Maria was born on June 26, 1960, in La Colonia de Lazaro Cardenas Chihuahua, Mexico, to Father and Mother Amalio and Maria Hortencia Nolasco where she was raised with a loving family of 7 brothers and 3 sisters. Her up bringing was very humble and happy as she would love to tell stories of when she grew up in Mexico. As a young adult she became a O.R. Technician and helped many which was her passion. Later she had a family and became a very successful self-employed entrepreneur owning the first Mexican store in Espanola. Tencha loved people and people loved her helping whomever she came across at any time good or bad. She loved and enjoyed her grandchildren that brought abundant joy and happiness.

Services will be held at DeVargas Funeral Home on Wednesday, September 18, 2024, at 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm for viewing and Rosary. Church Services will be held on Friday, September 20, 2024, at 11:00 am at Santa Cruz Catholic Church.
