Maria Clarita Olguin

Maria Clara “Lily” Olguin 93, was called home on December 31, 2024, surrounded by her loving family. 

Clara was preceded in death by her mother Ascencion & father Salomon Olguin; brother Leifas Olguin; sister Theresa Duran & Joe Duran; beloved granddaughter Kathleen Valdez; grandson Terrance Vigil; and great grandson Lucas Valdez; son-in-law Nelson Vigil and Godson Joe Jr. Duran. 

She was survived by her lifelong companion Andrew Talachy of 60 years, as well as her only living sister, Anita Martinez. 

Daughter Norma Vigil, grandchildren Margo (Ramsey); great grandchildren Manuel (Brianna) and Cassandra (Alejandro); Great-great grandchildren Marquez, Alaina, and Baby Vigil. 

Daughter, Joann & a very special son-in-law, Phillip Valdez; grandchildren Amanda & Felisha; great grand-children Mariano, Destiny, and Dennis. 

Only son, Robert Olguin, and special & only daughter-in-law Shelley Olguin; grandchildren Roxanne, Justin and Danekah (Justyn Johnson); great-grandchildren DeMarco, Karina, and Delahni; special relatives Barbara Chaves & Leonel Juarez. 

Special nurses & caretakers included Andrea and Kayla. As well as special neighbors & friends, Nona, Susie and Lloyd. 

Clara had many other aunts, uncles, cousins, relatives, and loved ones. 

A Public Viewing will take place on Wednesday, January 15, 2025, at 5:00 pm, with Rosary to follow at 6:00 pm in the Sangre de Cristo Chapel at DeVargas Funeral Home in Espanola, NM.  Mass of Christian Burial will be on Thursday, January 16, 2025, at 10:30 am at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church in Velarde, NM, with burial to follow at Our Lady of Guadalupe Cemetery in Velarde, NM. 

Honorary Pallbearers Andrew Talachy, Robert Olguin, Phillip Valdez, Manuel Vigil, Justin Olguin, Marquez Vigil, Mariano Valdez, DeMarco Juarez, and Dennis Maestas.
