MARIA ELSIE MADRID, 81, a resident of Espanola, formerly of Cañones, passed away on Wednesday, December 14, 2016. She was preceded in death by her parents, Emiliano and Angelica Aragon, daughter, Magdalena Madrid-Howie. Elsie was a kind and loving mother, grandmother, sister, and aunt. She will be missed by all who knew and loved her. Elsie is survived by her husband, Ildefonzo Madrid; daughter, Beatrice Madrid-Groven, sons, Fernando, Pedro, Emilliano and Facundo Madrid; grandchildren, Justin, Sage, Lakeisha,   and Kaitlynn Madrid, Eric Howie, Desiree Howie-Wade, Madison  and Grant Groven; siblings, Antonia Garcia, Vitalia Chacon, Alfonso and Roman Aragon. A devotional service will be held on Monday, December 19, 2016 at 7:00 p.m. in the Sangre de Cristo Chapel of DeVargas Funeral Home & Crematory. The family of Maria Elsie Madrid has entrusted the care of their loved one to the DeVargas Funeral Home & Crematory of the Espanola Valley.
