Margie E. Age - 86 - Española Borrego

Margie E. Borrego, 86, born February 10, 1925 passed away after a short illness on October 19, 2011. She had been employed at Jemez electric Coop from 1952 – 1967 and then moved to Albuquerque in 1967. She retired from Westinghouse in the 1980’s. Ernesto and Margie moved back to Española in 1993 to be close to family. She loved sports and she encouraged her sons and grandchildren along by being active herself. She had very fond memories of her years at McCurdy School and she enjoyed spending time with all the members of her extended family. Margie resided at St. Mary’s Rest Home in Albuquerque for several years and it was expressed that her happiness was very refreshing at the home. Margie was preceded in death by her husband of 52 years, Ernesto Borrego; parents, Grover and Ellen Pippin; brother, Robert Pippin; sister, Pauline Wright; son, Johnny Miller; grandson, Tenanco Borrego; in-laws, Vicente and Beroniz Borrego. She is survived by her sister, Margaret Hughes; brothers: Joseph, Grover, Douglas and Dwight Pippin; sons: Cliff Miller (Sylvia), Larry Borrego, (Henrietta), Jose Borrego (Stephanie); grandchildren: Maria Escarcega, Vanesa Borrego (Eric), Andrea Lares (Ed), Alicia Miller, Anela Flores (Ed), Emilio Borrego, and Danica Sanchez; great-grandchildren: Dominique, Jacob, Joaquin, Aria, and Leah. Private services will be held. In lieu of flowers the family request donations be made to the St. Mary Rest Home located at 205 7th Street, N.W. in Albuquerque, NM 87102. The family of Margie E. Borrego has entrusted the care of their loved one to DeVargas Funeral Home & Crematory of the Española Valley.
