Margarita Lovato

Margarita Lovato, 94 years of age, passed away surrounded by her loving family on Sunday, October 21, 2018 She was born in Canjilon, on June 10, 1924 and was a previous resident of Cañones and currently a resident of Española for over 40 years. She was preceded in death by her parents, Adelaido and Adelaida Manzanares; her husband, Isaac Lovato; parents-in-law, Juan and Luz Lovato; children, Ida Lovato, Juan Lovato, Roselia Lovato, twin newborn sons; sisters, Crescensiana Montaño, Lorreta Flores; brothers, Alejandro Manzanares and Leonardo Manzanares. She is survived by her children, Isaac Lovato Jr. and wife Helen, Lala Salazar and husband, Joseph; a granddaughter whom she raised, Renee Sandoval and husband Ben; four grandchildren, Monica Salazar-Casias and husband Jack, Kenneth Lovato and wife Jamie, Michael Salazar, Tamara Lopez and husband Francisco; ten great-grandchildren, Benjamin, Brandon and Janessa Sandoval, Austin Salazar-Casias and Jaden Casias, Uriah and Nehemiah Lovato, Savanah Salazar, Lucas and Logan Lopez. She is also survived by her brother, Alfonso Manzanares; brother-in-law, Fred Lovato and many special nieces, nephews, friends and neighbors whom she loved. We would like to thank Presbyterian Hospital in Española for the amazing care they provided for her, Compassus Hospice for providing compassionate care and Ideal Home Health Care and caretaker, Carolina Madrid. Public visitation will begin on Thursday, October 25 2018 at 6:00 p.m. in the Chapel of Peace of DeVargas Funeral Home & Crematory with a devotional service to follow at 7:00 p.m.  Burial will be held on Friday, October 26, 2018 at 9:45 a.m. at Santa Fe National Cemetery with the following serving as pallbearers, Kenneth Lovato, Michael Salazar, Ben Sandoval, Johnny Lovato, Ricky Lovato and Roman Aragon. Serving the family as honorary pallbearers will be all her great-grandchildren. The family of Margarita Lovato has entrusted the care of their loved one to the DeVargas Funeral Home of the Española Valley.
