Margaret L. - Age 86 - Espanola Leyba

Margaret L. Leyba, Age 86, a long time resident of Espanola passed away on Saturday, September 3, 2011 following a short illness. She was preceded in death by her loving husband of 60 years Fredolin Leyba; parents, Marcos and Genoveva Lopez, in-laws, Delfido and Ignacita Leyba; brothers, Martin Lopez, Vicente Lopez, Marcos Lopez, Alfredo Lopez, Alberto Lopez and sisters Roberta Sisneros and Feliz Avila. Margaret was a homemaker and a loving mother, grandmother and friend to many. She enjoyed visiting with family and friends and was kind and loving to all. She was a very hard working woman who loved to cook and bake. She loved God and was very devoted to her Catholic faith. She was constantly praying for others and for peace. She is survived by sons, Ernest Leyba, Leroy Leyba and wife Lucille, daughters, Patricia Trujillo and Dora Cde Baca and husband John; grandchildren: Linda, Mario, Sean, Larry, Rubel, Rose Anne, Ike, Felicia, Joseph and Gabriela; 8 great grandchildren, special nieces and nephews and many other relatives and friends. Public visitation will be held on Tuesday, September 6, 2011 at 6:00 p.m. in the Sangre de Cristo Chapel at DeVargas Funeral Home with a rosary to follow at 7:00 p.m. Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated on Wednesday September 7, 2011 at 11:00 a.m. at Sacred Heart Parish in Espanola, interment to follow at the Santa Fe National Cemetery at 1:30 p.m. Pallbearers assisting the family will be: John Cde Baca, Rubel Leyba, Ike Trujillo, Orlando Griego, Joe Sisneros, David Lopez and Marvin Martinez.
