Marcos - Age 33 - Chamita Atencio

Marcos Atencio – Age 33 a resident of Chamita passed away on Friday, April 20, 2012. He enjoyed taking his children fishing, loved to dance with his grandma, and enjoyed camping and anything outdoors. He enjoyed going on bike rides with his children who were the center of his universe. As a young man he learned to dismantle and reassemble anything electronic, beginning his career in electronics. He was a very kind, loving person who had a world of friends. He was preceded in death by his father, Jerry Herrera; his maternal grandfather, Abelino Atencio; paternal grandfather, Pete Jaramillo and paternal great-grandmother, Abelina Medina. He is survived by his children: Anastancia, Marcos, Jr., Madaija and Angelo Atencio; mother, Marcella Atencio; sisters: Jermaine Herrera and Jennifer Herrera; maternal grandmother, Florinda Atencio; paternal grandmother, Bernie Jaramillo; uncles and aunts: Charlie Atencio and companion Jenny, Rebecca Flores and husband Fred, Fabian Atencio, Ronald Atencio, Felix Herrera and companion Cathy and David and Robert Jaramillo; Godmother, Teresa Gallegos; and numerous other relatives and friends. Public visitation will be held on Tuesday, April 24, 2012 at 6:30 p.m. at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Ohkay Owingeh with a rosary to be recited at 7:00 p.m. Mass of the Resurrection will be celebrated on Wednesday, April 25, 2012 at 10:00 a.m. at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Ohkay Owingeh. Burial will follow at the San Pedro Cemetery in Chamita with the following serving as pallbearers: Ronald Atencio, Carlos Atencio, Christopher Atencio, Fabian Atencio, Jr., Felix Herrera and David Jaramillo. Serving as honorary pallbearers will be: Billie Flores, Colynn Atencio, Ronald Atencio, Jr., Jerry, Ashley and Kaelynn Jaramillo and Monica Herrera.
