Marcella Corrales

MARCELLA CORRALES, 86, a resident of Gallina, NM was called home to be with our Lord on Thursday, April 12, 2018.  She was preceded in death by her loving husband, Rogelio Corrales; brothers, Asisclo and Pete Jacquez; infant great-grandson, Jackson Jacquez; parents, Porfirio and Ermelinda Jacquez.  Marcella was a loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, her family was her life. She loved having her family around and welcomed everyone with open arms. In her early years she was a regular cowgirl who helped her husband around the ranch. She was also a wonderful homemaker who devoted her life to her family and to God. Her love of God and her faith were instilled in each and everyone of her children and grandchildren. She was an active Guadalupana and a devout member of La Sagrada Familia.  Marcella will be greatly missed by her family and community as she was loved by everyone she knew. She is survived by her children, Clora Gerber of Albuquerque, Pauline (Ivan) Chacon of Coyote, Joann (Clyde) Jacquez of Farmington, Roger (Beverly) Corrales of Gallina, Doris Corrales of Albuquerque and Monica (Jose) Ocampo of Santa Fe. Public Visitation will begin on Saturday, April 14, 2018 at 5:30 p.m. in the Sangre de Cristo Chapel of DeVargas Funeral Home & Crematory, with a rosary to be recited at 6:00 p.m. A second rosary will be recited on Sunday, April 15, 2018 at 6:00 p.m.  at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church in Gallina. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday, April 16, 2018 at 11:00 a.m. at St. Thomas Catholic Church in Abiquiu, with a burial to follow at a private family plot. Serving the family as pallbearers are, Amos Corrales, T.J. and Michael Jacquez, Neil Chacon, Tony  Gomez, and Andres Duran, honorary pallbearers are, Alfonso and Sandra Suazo, Perla Valenzuela, (Caretaker), Cathy and Antonio Serrano and all of her grandchildren, Dianna Gomez (Tony), Raeann Gerber Camille Chacon, Kim Duran (Andres), Midge Chacon, Neil Chacon, T.J. (Traci) and Michael Jacquez (Shay), CeCe and Amos Corrales, Antoine Corrales, Lillianna, Bethany and Jose Ocumpo, great-great grandchildren, Faith, Hope Tony and Ethan Gomez, Alyssa (RJ), Justin and Damian Duran, Jay Jay (Kari),  Jeremiah, Ariona, Jazmine and Adrian Jacquez great-great-great grandchildren, CJ, Marcella, Mariah, Maison and Kashton Lane. The family of Marcella Corrales has entrusted the care of their loved one to the DeVargas Funeral Home & Crematory of the Espanola Valley.
