MANUEL J. MARTINEZ, JR., 48, a resident of Chimayo, passed away on Monday, March 19, 2013. He was preceded in death by his father, Manuel J. Martinez; grandparents, Remijio and Sofia Martinez and Juan C. and Carlotta M. Rael. Mr. Martinez is survived by his mother, Lupe Martinez; sister, Rebecca Martinez and husband Jesse and their son, Justin Martinez; friends that were like brothers, Amos Bustos and Billy Bustos and wife Jodi of Chimayo; aunts and uncles, Carla Lucero of Albuquerque, Amos (Andy) Atencio and wife Joann all of Dixon, Manuel and wife Sabina of Nevada, Pat Martinez and wife Arcelia of Chimayo, Tony Martinez and wife Ailene of Albuquerque, Johnny Rael and wife Connie of Chama, Russell Crawford and wife Edith of Indiana and numerous cousins and other relatives and friends. Cremation has taken place. Public visitation will begin on Tuesday, March 26, 2013 at 10:30 a.m. in the Sangre de Cristo Chapel of DeVargas Funeral Home & Crematory with a memorial service to follow at 11:00 a.m. Burial to follow at the Potrero Catholic Cemetery in Chimayo. The family of Manuel J. Martinez, Jr. has entrusted their loved one to DeVargas Funeral Home & Crematory of the Española Valley.
