Manuelita Peña

Manuelita “Maime” Peña , 81, a resident of Servilleta, passed away unexpectedly on Saturday, August 11, 2018. She was preceded in death by her mother, Rosa Griego; sons, Julian and Dennis Peña Jr; brother, Eliasme Gallegos and ex-husband, Dennis Peña Sr. all of Servilleta. Ms. Peña was hardworking. She loved tending to her garden and flowers. She loved her family and was very dedicated to them. She loved cooking for her family and friends and made the best tortillas. She loved her dogs and they, as well as her family and friends, will miss her greatly. Ms. Peña is survived by her children, Angelina (Jaime) Tena, Luis (Renee) Peña, Margaret Peña, Priscilla Baldonado, Theresa Parlante, Jonathan Jaramillo and Veronica Peña; grandchildren she raised, Stevan Peña, Dennis Perez and Denise Ibarra. She is also survived by her brothers, sisters, grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great grandchildren. Public visitation will begin on Wednesday, August 15, 2018 at 6:00 p.m. in the Sangre de Cristo Chapel of DeVargas Funeral Home & Crematory with a rosary to be recited at 7:00 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Thursday, August 16, 2018 at 10:00 a.m. at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Ojo Caliente with burial to follow at the Servilleta Cemetery. Serving the family as pallbearers will be Stevan Peña, James Tena, Gabriel Ibarra, Luis Peña Jr., Epifanio Baldonado, Ivan Baldonado, Timothy Peña and Leonard Griego. The family of Manuelita “Maime” Peña has entrusted the care of their loved one to the DeVargas Funeral Home & Crematory of the Española Valley.
