Manuelita - Age 81 - Rio Chiquito Martinez

MANUELITA MARTINEZ, 81, a resident of Rio Chiquito, passed away on Tuesday, February 21, 2012 following a brief illness. She was preceded in death by her parents, Benito and Josefita Trujillo; husband, Anastacio Martinez; son, Danny Trujillo; granddaughters, April Martinez and Angel Trujillo; grandson, Marty Trujillo; great-granddaughter, April Dupree; sister, Georgia Sanchez and brothers-in-law: Tony Sanchez and Cenobio Quintana. Manuelita belonged to the Rio Chiquito Sagrada de Corazon Church. She enjoyed spending time with her sisters and brother and loved going to Furrs Cafeteria to eat with them. Her many hobbies included dancing with her sons, gardening, shopping, peeling chili and dressing up for Halloween as well as spending time with her family and going to church. Mrs. Martinez is survived by her children, Joan Archuleta and husband Glen of Rio Chiquito, Orlando Trujillo and wife Martha of Chimayo and Vicky Gutierrez and fiancé Benny Romero of Rio Chiquito; daughter-in-law, Barbara Trujillo of La Mesilla; grandchildren, Michelle Martinez and companion Fred Dupree, Michelle Renee Martinez, JoAnn and Elizabeth Dupree, Denise Martinez and husband Joseph Pat, Joseph Jr. and Dyna, Leanna, Darren and Brandon Martinez, Lori, Brandy Martinez, Raymond Romero and wife Kassandra, Ashley Montoya, MarcJacob, Christen Montoya, Orlando Trujillo, Jr., Joseph “J.J.” Trujillo, Angelo and Isaiah Trujillo, Estrella Gutierrez and fiancé Shane Maestas, Danny Trujillo, Jr. and fiancé Flor, Daniella, Destiny, Dominic, Dannylynn, Miguel, Christopher and Victor Trujillo; brother, Ernest Trujillo and wife Ida and family; sisters, Matilde Quintana and family, Miquelita Vigil and family, Sanchez family; God-daughters, Darlene Arellano and Theresa Trujillo; close family: Estevan Gutierrez, Marvin Sanchez and Linda Granados; and numerous other relatives and friends. A rosary will be recited on Friday, February 24, 2012 at 7:00 p.m. in the Sangre de Cristo Chapel of DeVargas Funeral Home & Crematory. Mass of Christian burial to be celebrated on Saturday, February 25, 2012 at 11:00 a.m. at the Holy Family Catholic Church in Chimayo. Burial to follow at the Rio Chiquito Catholic Cemetery with the following serving as pallbearers: Orlando, Jr. and J.J. Trujillo, Raymond Romero, Joseph Pat Martinez, Joey Martinez, Brandon Martinez, Danny Trujillo, Jr., Miguel, Christopher and Victor Trujillo. Serving as honorary pallbearers will be all of her grandchildren.
