Manuel "Boss" Age - 70 - Santa Fe Manzanares

MANUEL “BOSS” MANZANARES, 70, a former resident of Santa Fe and currently a resident of La Villita, passed away on Monday, October 24, 2011 following a lengthy illness. He was born January 14, 1941 in Tierra Azul. Manuel served in the United States Navy for 6 years and he was a security guard at LANL, he was employed by DOE, Mason and Hanger and PTLA and a union member of IGUA Local 69. He was preceded in death by his son, Jonathan “Jon” Manzanares; wife, Lucy Manzanares; parents, Bernarda and Rumaldo Manzanares, Santiago Gallegos and Anastacia Gallegos; sister, Juanita Mundy and husband Chester; brothers, Santiago Leodoro, Willie, Robert, Ralph and Jimmy Gallegos; sisters-in-law, Sara Gallegos and Tillie Gallegos. Mr. Manzanares is survived by his daughters, Darlene and Jonelle Manzanares; grandsons, Nathan Manzanares and Deanna Griego and Jon Robert Manzanares; brothers, Clovis Gallegos, Phil Gallegos and wife Virginia, Mike Gallegos and wife Barbara, Alfonso Gallegos and wife Inez; dear sisters-in-law, Bernie, Rose, Betty and Priscilla Gallegos and numerous other relatives and friends. Public visitation will begin on Wednesday, October 26, 2011 at 6:30 p.m. in the Sangre de Cristo Chapel of DeVargas Funeral Home & Crematory with a rosary to be recited at 7:00 p.m. Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated on Thursday, October 27, 2011 at 10:00a.m. at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Espanola.. Burial to follow at 12:45 p.m. at the Santa Fe National Cemetery with the following serving as pallbearers, Nathan and Robert Manzanares, Medardo Cordova, Ross Cordova, Jeffery Gallegos, Steven Gallegos, Salomon Manzanares Fermin Manzanares, Robert Ochoa. Honorary pallbearers named are, Richardo Baldonado, Horace Manzanares, Maggie Maestas, Frank Manzanares, Robert Gallegos, Bernardo Garcia, Clyde Valdez, and Alex Gallegos, The family of Manuel “Boss” Manzanares has entrusted their loved one to DeVargas Funeral Home & Crematory of the Española Valley.
