Manuel "Astro" Martinez

\r\n \r\n \r\n \r\n Manuel “Astro” Martinez, 59, a resident of Chimayo passed away on Monday, February 15, 2010, following a lengthy illness. He was preceded in death by his father, Fernando D. Martinez; brother, Donald “Ducks” Martinez; nephew, Jesus Ferran; mother of his children, Lynn Martinez, and favorite brother-in-law, Candido “Candi” Romero. Manuel is survived by his mother, Arolinda V. Martinez; son, Eric Martinez and wife Caroline of Chimayo; daughter, DeAnna Martinez; mother-in-law, Alicia Glass of Chimayo; special granddaughter, Ashley Martinez; seven other grandchildren; brothers and sisters, Alfonso Martinez and wife Vicky of Chimayo, Olivia McDuff of Puyallup, WA, Andrew O. Martinez and wife Yolanda of San Antonio, TX, Fernando G. Martinez and wife Bertha of Albuquerque, Esther Martinez of Espanola, Wanda Ferran and husband Lloyd of Hernandez, Rito Martinez of Castle Rock, CO, Avelina Martinez of Espanola, Ida Moreno and husband Javier of Las Vegas, NV, Michael Martinez and wife Bonnie of Littleton, CO, Felicia and companion Andrew Quintana, Kenny, Beverly and companion Gilbert Trujillo, and Andrew Martinez, all of Chimayo; numerous nieces and nephews, special friends and relatives, Jimmy and Sam Herrera, Manuel R. and Robin Salais of Espanola, Andrew and Carlos Martinez of Chimayo and many other relatives and friends; special thanks to all the Ambercare staff for their loving care. Cremation has taken place. A rosary will be recited on Thursday, February 18, 2010 at 5:00 p.m. at the Holy Family Catholic Church in Chimayo. Memorial mass will be celebrated on Friday, February 19, 2010 at 10:00 a.m. also at the Holy Family Catholic Church in Chimayo. Burial to follow at the Nuestra Señora de Dolores Catholic Cemetery in Chimayo.
