Manuel Velasquez

Manuel A. Velasquez, 47, of Truchas, NM, passed away on October 5, 2023.

He is preceded in death by his grandparents Cipriano and Sabinita B. Romero and Salome and Androlica Velasquez, aunt Diane Velasquez, and uncles Roger Velasquez and Tony Romero.

He is survived by his parents Charlie and Becky Velasquez, son Alejandro Martinez, uncles Ray Romero (Lillian), Nino Delfin Romero, Larry Romero (Jackie), Gilbert Velasquez (Joann), aunts Cathy Griego (Scott), Joann Lovato (Mike), Nina Betty Sandoval, family friends, Nelson and Teresa Martinez, Nicole Martinez, and Bernadette Griego, and cousin Marquita Romero.

Manuel was born in Leadville, Colorado on December 12, 1975. He was the only child. He was a big Raiders fan. He was a good son and father. He was a good friend and cousin. He would always like to help anyone when needed. He will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.

A public visitation will take place at 9:30 am in the Sangre de Cristo Chapel of DeVargas Funeral Home on Friday, October 13, 2023. Funeral service will follow at 10:00 am with the burial to follow at the Romero Cemetery in Truchas, NM.  

Pallbearers are Gilbert Velasquez, David Griego, Larry Romero, little Ray Romero, Mikie Martinez, and Paul Trujillo.

Honorary Pallbearers are Christopher Romero, Alejandro Martinez, and Justin Martinez.
