Manuel Vargas

Manuel Vargas, 77, a resident of Espanola, passed away to an unexpected illness on Friday, April 12, 2019.  He was preceded in death by his parents, Servando Vargas and Maria Paulina Ramirez; sons, Jose Cruz Duran and Javier Vargas. Manuel was a Master Carpenter, who was employed by Pablo Chavez Construction and worked as a self-employed carpenter for many years. Manuel is survived by his Spouse of 50 years, Irma Gallegos Vargas; sons, Cesar Vargas (Isla-Jo). Ricardo Vargas and Manny Vargas (Denise); grandchildren, Gavin Vargas of Durango, CO, Cesar Vargas Jr. (Stephanie) of Amarillo, TX, Manny Vargas Jr. (Angel), Tyler Rose Vargas and Kiegan Maestas; great-grandchildren, Amethyst Rose, Naomi Salazar, Kristiana Vargas, Christina and Lorena Pierce, and Daisy Vargas; 6 brothers and sisters; his compadre, Michael Quintana, special friends, Joe Sandoval, Ricardo Lucero, Bob Tainter and family, Florence Patton, Ramona Chavez, Tony Quintana and family, Rafael and Maria de la Torres and family, Dolores Vigil and family, Emily Maestas and family, Aaron Sanchez, Anthony and Kathy Vanderhaussen, Danny and Debbie Lopez; brother-in-law, Jorge Gallegos (Annette) and numerous relative and friends whom he loved dearly. Funeral service will be held on Saturday, April 20, 2019 at 1:00 p.m. in the Sangre de Cristo Chapel of DeVargas Funeral Home & Crematory.
