MANUEL A. ULIBARRI, 70, a resident of Los Luceros, formerly of Anton Chico passed away on Friday, August 19, 2016. Manuel was preceded in death by his parents, Jose and Magdalena Ulibarri; maternal mother, Cipricia Vigil Ulibarri; brothers, Ralph, Jose and Spouse Alice Ulibarri; step-brother, Geronimo Salas; brother-in-law, Jerry DeAguero, and sister-in-law, Patricia Ulibarri. Manuel was always an entrepreneur business man that provided his self with his self-employment. He eventually established his own business “La Tiendita”. He became well known for the Carne Seca he made. He was initially a butcher by trade. As a young man he would also trap and make adobes. He was a member of the Sangre de Cristo Search and Rescue and a volunteer for the Velarde Fire Department. Manuel is survived by his spouse, Charline B. Ulibarri; sons, Amos Santos Ulibarri and partner Alena Serna, Martin D. Ulibarri, daughter, April B. Uilbarri all of Los Luceros; brothers and sisters surviving spouse of Ralph Ulibarri, Ida Ulibarri, Paulita DeAguero, Betty and spouse James Shaw, surviving spouse of Jerry Salas, Ramona Salas, Sally and Spouse Eddie Alarid, Laura Ulibarri, Larry and spouse Christie Ulibarri, Gloria Ulibarri, Arnold and spouse Cynthia Ulibarri, Michael and spouse Donna Ulibarri, and many nieces and nephews. A rosary will be recited on Thursday, August 25, 2016 at 7:00 p.m. at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Ohkay Owingeh. Memorial mass will be celebrated on Friday, August 26, 2016 at 10:00 a.m. also at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, with a burial to follow at La Villita Cemetery. The family of Manuel A.
