Manuel Pena

MANUEL PENA, 90, a resident of La Madera, formerly of Minturn, CO passed away on Saturday, March 2, 2019.  Manuel was preceded in death by his wife, Juanita Pena; parents, Octaviano and Epifania Pena; siblings, Laura Pena, Flora Griego; sons, Richard Pena, Nestorita Vargas, Steve Pena; grandsons, Georgie Pena and Robert Pena.  Manuel was an Hermano in La Morada de Nuestro Padre de Jesus since he was 13 years old. During his younger days he enjoyed hunting and fishing and working with his cattle. Family was always most important to him. Manuel was the best father and grandfather. Anyone who knew him always knew his peaceful character. He is survived by his children, Tito Pena (Vicky), George Pena (Belinda), Eppie Ruiz (Roy Sr.), Isidore Pena (Dorothy), and Isabel Pena; 12 grandchildren, 22 great-grandchildren, and 3 great-great-grandchildren. Public visitation will begin on Wednesday, March 6, 2019 at 6:00 p.m. at Nuestro Padre de Jesus Oratorio with a rosary to be recited at 6:30 p.m. Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated on Thursday, March 7, 2019 at 10:00 a.m. also at Nuestro Padre de Jesus Oratorio. Burial to follow at La Madera Catholic Cemetery with the following serving the family as pallbearers, Rick Pena, Fred Pena, Danny Pena, Elizar Pena, Roy Ruiz Jr., Juan Pena.
