Malinda Age - 70 - Santa Clara Pueblo Pekarcik

Malinda Pekarcik, 70, a resident of Santa Clara Pueblo passed away peacefully with her family by her side on Monday, February 6, 2012. She retired from the Public Education Department. Her time was mainly spent on her arts and crafts. She enjoyed the casino and spending time with her friends at the Santa Clara Senior Citizens Center. Malinda was preceded in death by her parents, Juan and Gregorita Chavarria; brothers: Pete, Harvey, Richard and Tony Chavarria; sister, Mary Philomena Christanson. Malinda is survived by her husband of 48 years, Michael Pekarcik; daughter, Marie Granich; sons: Philip Pekarcik and wife Maria, Steven Pekarcik and wife Chantel, Dorian Pekarcik and companion Ines; brother, Dave Chavarria and wife JoAnn; niece, Rebecca Naranjo; numerous other loving relatives & friends. Public visitation will be held on Wednesday, February 8, 2012 at 3:00 p.m. at the Family Home. Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated on Thursday, February 9, 2012 at 9:00 a.m. at Santa Clara Catholic Church with burial to follow at Santa Clara Cemetery.
