Luisa - Age 94 - San Pedro Martinez

Luisa Martinez, 94, a resident of San Pedro, passed away on Sunday, December 21, 2014. She was preceded in death by her husband Antonio Martinez, children, Tony “Reyes” Martinez, Orlinda Lopez, George Martinez, Great Grandchild Silas Joe Hernandez; parents, Donicio and Elena Montoya; brothers and sisters, Donicio, Reyes, Filipe, Rudolpho, Eddie, Abrahn Montoya. Luisa is survived by her children, Gaby Martinez, LeRoy and wife Anna, Alberto and Bobby Martinez of Espanola; numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren, all her bingo friends and her cookie buddy Petey. Luisa was a loving mother, grandmother, great and great-great grandmother. She was a humble woman and enjoyed spending most of her time at home with her family. She did not miss important functions such as weddings, etcs. When she went out, one of her passions was playing bingo. It was an excellent opportunity for her to socialize and spend time with her dear friends. She enjoyed meeting new people. She will be dearly missed by those who knew and loved her. Public visitation will be held on Tuesday, December 30, 2014 at 6:30 p.m. in the Chapel of Peace of DeVargas Funeral Home, with a rosary to be recited at 7:00 p.m. Mass of Christian burial will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Wednesday, December 31, 2014 at La Iglesia de Santa Cruz de la Canada. Cremation to follow services and burial to take place at a later date at Holy Cross Catholic Cemetery. The following will be serving as pallbearers: Christopher Maes, Antonio, John, George, Ronald, and Walter Martinez. Honorary pallbearers will be AnnaLouise Martinez, Paula Martinez, Jennifer Martinez, Crystal Miller, Jessica Padilla, and Rick Lopez. The family of Luisa Martinez has entrusted the care of their loved one to the DeVargas Funeral Home & Crematory of the Espanola Valley.
