Luis Maestas

\r\n \r\n \r\n \r\n Luis Maestas Age 78, a resident of La Puebla, passed away on Tuesday, February 23, 2010, following a brief illness. Luis died peacefully at home, surrounded by his loving family. He was preceded in death by his parents, Juan De Dios Maestas and Petrita Maestas; brothers, Leland and Mike Maestas and a sister, Nora. Luis is survived by his loving wife, Irene Maestas; son, Mario Maestas and wife Berlinda; daughters, DeVanna Ortega and friend Julian Salazar, Lois Rael and husband Jerry, Margaret Salazar and husband Richard; grandchildren, Crystal Montoya, Jeres Rael and a girlfriend Jahan Barela, Richard “Richie” Salazar, Jerad Rael and wife Ashley, Keri Mirabal and husband David; sisters, Alice Medina and Angie Romero and husband Sam. He is also survived by a brother-in-law whom he was especially close to, Victor Salazar and wife Susie Salazar and sons, Victor and wife Lorraine, Ernie and wife Christine and Douglas, his loving godson and many relatives. A rosary will be recited on Thursday, February 25, 2010 at 7:00 p.m. at Holy Cross Catholic Church in Santa Cruz. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday, February 26th at 10:00 a.m. at Holy Cross Catholic Church. Burial will take place at the Santa Fe National Cemetery at 2:00 p.m. with the following serving as pallbearers, Victor Salazar Sr., Joseph Maestas, Doug Salazar, David Mirabal, Jeres and Jerad Rael.
