Lucia "Lucy" Vigil

Lucia (Lucy) Vigil, 100, of Espanola, NM, passed away on Tuesday, April 25, 2023.

Lucy was a school LPN in the Espanola Public Schools system during which she touched the lives of many students. She was very active at the Sacred Heart Parish and was also active at the Carmelita's Organization of Santa Cruz de la Canada.

Lucy was preceded in death by her parents Elfido and Beatriz Martinez, her in-laws Agustin and Bernadita Vigil, husband Pablo “Eddie” Vigil, brother Joe Martinez and sister Mary “Fola” Naranjo. 

Lucy is survived by her children Beatrise, Amalia (Paul) Wehrenberg, Eduardo and grandchildren Aaron, Christopher, Rachel, Casey, and many relatives and friends.

Family wants to acknowledge Maria Almanza Gallegos for her loving and caring cariño towards Lucy and Ana Dixon, RN with Ambercare Hospice who visited on a very regular basis providing support to Lucy and the family, social worker and Chaplain Service were also very supportive.

A Rosary will be recited at 11:30 a.m. at Sacred Heart of Jesus Catholic Church in Espanola, NM, on Monday, May 8, 2023, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 12:30 p.m. Burial will follow at the Sacred Heart Cemetery in Espanola, NM.
