Lucas G. Age - 71 - Guachupangue Martinez

Lucas G. Martinez, 71, a resident of Guachupangue passed away on Sunday, December 18, 2011 following an 8 year battle with cancer. Mr. Martinez was a life time roofer. He started with Zia Company and 51 years later retired from Johnson Controls. Mr. Martinez was a member of the Holy Family Society and Blessed Sacrament Adoration. His favorite pastimes were camping with his family, hunting with his cousins and sons, and watching western movies. Mr. Martinez was preceded in death by his parents, Felipe and Amada Martinez. He is survived by his wife of 50 years, Lucille Martinez of Guachupangue; children: Tina Garcia (Ernest) of San Pedro, Andrew Martinez (Laura) of Denver, CO; Brian Martinez (Cherylann) of Guachupangue; grandchildren: Chris Chavez, Amanda Romero (Matt), Daniel and David Garcia, Richard, Dillon, Isaiah and Sarah Martinez; 5 great-grandchildren; his loving sister, Mable Martinez of Fairview; brothers: Felipe Martinez (Dolores) of California, Victor Salazar (Susie) of Velarde; numerous cousins, nephews and nieces. Public visitation will be held on Tuesday, December 20, 2011 at 6:00 p.m. at Sacred Heart of Jesus Catholic Church in Española with a rosary to follow at 7:00 p.m. Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated by Father Oscar on Wednesday, December 21, 2011 at 11:00 a.m. at Sacred Heart of Jesus Catholic Church in Española with burial to follow at Sacred Heart Catholic Cemetery with the following serving as pallbearers: Victor, Reuben and Bobby Salazar, Gilbert Lucero, Lawrence Rendon and Clarence Roybal; honorary pallbearers: are all his grandchildren.
