Lourdes - Age 83 -Santa Fe Ortega

LOURDES ORTEGA, 83, a resident of Santa Fe, passed away on Tuesday, February 8, 2011. Lourdes was born on September 24, 1927 to Antonio and Fedelina Vigil, who precede her in death. She was also preceded in death by her step-mother, Margarita Vigil; son, Reynaldo Ortiz; brothers, Guadalupe and Amarante Vigil. She was a wonderful wife who loved her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren, family was everything. She loved life and going to church and hearing the word of the Lord. She would always have a smile on her face and let everyone know that God loved them. She loved to cook and share her wonderful food with her family, friends and neighbors and anyone that was hungry. She loved to garden, anyone that visited her was welcomed to flowers and beautiful colors. Mom would always give the blessing when anyone was traveling. Mom, we give you our blessing for your trip home to be with our Lord. Mrs. Ortega is survived by her husband Jose Ortega of Truchas; sister, Domecilia Ortiz of Chimayo, daughters, Lina Ortiz of Chimayo, Merlyne Ortiz of Santa Fe, Yvonne Ortega and husband Eloy Montoya of La Madera, Rachel Arguello and husband John of Santa Fe; daughter-in-law, Berlinda Ortiz of Chimayo; sons, Clarence Ortiz and wife Laura of Chimayo, Tito Ortiz and wife Joann of Chimayo, Lee Ortega and wife Linda of Albuquerque, Wilfred Ortega of Chimayo; grandchildren, Natashia Ortega, Joshua Montoya, Gerome Arguello, Marissa Arguello, Dylan Chavez, Dominic Martinez, Robert Moya, Unity Trujillo, Cyrina Moya, Stephen Moya, Paula Ortiz, Lisa Bustos, Ray Ortiz, Jr., Dale Ortiz, Deserie Landeros, Daniel Ortega, Mike Ortega, Kathleen Martinez, Jessica Baca, Cindy Martinez, Phyllis Ann Ortiz and Roxanne Garcia; many great-grandchildren; sisters-in-law, Carol Leyba of Santa Fe, Edwina Martinez of Truchas, Diane Leyba of Arroyo Seco and brother-in-law, Isabro Ortega of Truchas; very special niece, Vera Vigil and numerous nephews, nieces, cousins and other relatives and friends. The family would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to all those who prayed for her over the past few months. A rosary will be recited on Saturday, February 12, 2011 at 7:45 p.m. at St. Anne’s in Santa Fe. A second rosary will be recited on Sunday, February 13, 2011 at 7:00 p.m. in the Sangre de Cristo Chapel of DeVargas Funeral Home & Crematory. Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated on Monday, February 14, 2011 at 10:00 a.m. at Holy Family Church in Chimayo with burial to be held on Monday, February 14, 2011 at 1:30 pm. at the Santa Fe National Cemetery with the following serving as pallbearers, Natashia Ortega, Joshua Montoya, Gerome Arguello, Dylan Chavez, Dominic Martinez, Daniel Ortega, Mike Ortega, Stephen Moya, Robert Moya, Ray Ortiz, Jr. and Dale Ortiz.
