Louise - Age 83 - Ohkay Owingeh - Ortiz

LOUISE PATRICIA ORTIZ, 83, a resident of Ohkay Owingeh, passed away on Saturday, September 21, 2013 following a lengthy illness. She was preceded in death by her parents, Pat and Isabel Talachy; husband, Jose S. Ortiz; daughter, Marie P. Ortiz and granddaughter, Renee S. Ortiz. She was born on July 12, 1930 to Patricio “Pat” Talachy and Isabel Suazo-Talachy. Mrs. Ortiz is survived by her elder sister, Florence Skye of Baxter Springs, Kansas; son, Jim Curtis Ortiz and wife Patricia “Honey” of Ohkay Owingeh; nephew, Leonard Skye of Kansas City, Kansas; niece, Marybeth Kihega and husband Charles of Quapaw, Oklahoma; grandsons, Neil Ortiz (Carrie B.) of Leech Lake, Minnesota, Theodore Reisberg III of Penrose, Colorado; granddaughters, Clarissa Ortiz of Ohkay Owingeh and Pacifica Reisberg of Penrose, Colorado; 9 great-grandchildren and numerous other relatives and friends. Public visitation will begin on Sunday, September 22, 2013 at 4:00 p.m. at the family residence in Ohkay Owingeh with a rosary to be recited at 7:00 p.m. Mass of Christian burial to be celebrated on Monday, September 23, 2013 at 8:00 a.m. at the St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Ohkay Owingeh. Burial to follow at the Ohkay Owingeh Pueblo Catholic Cemetery. The family of Louise Patricia Ortiz has entrusted their loved one to DeVargas Funeral Home & Crematory of the Española Valley.
