Lorraine S. Age - 68 - Truchas Barela

Lorraine S. Barela, 68, a resident of Truchas passed away on Thursday, January 26, 2012. She loved gardening, cooking and baking. She always kept herself busy. Lorraine enjoyed shopping for antiques and was an avid bargain hunter. She could make a gourmet meal out of pretty much anything. She was well loved and appreciated for her homemade bread and chili and was always ready to provide whatever anyone in need was lacking. Lorraine was preceded in death by her parents, Garcedon and Adonelia Pacheco; brothers: Valeriano and Teddy Pacheco; sister, Mida Pacheco. Lorraine is survived by her husband Richard Barela; children: Pablita Sandoval, Sammy Barela and wife April, Matthew Barela and companion Valerie all of Truchas; grandchildren: Monique Sandoval, Brandon Cordova, Loren Sandoval, Patrick, Samantha, Serena and Derrick Barela, Timothy Gonzales; brothers: Jose Romero And wife Betty of Hernandez, Armando Pacheco and wife Polita of Cordova and Jake Pacheco of Cordova; sisters: Irene Medina and husband Andy of Cordova, Mildred Aguilar and husband Louie of Cordova, Pauline Garcia and husband Edwin of Truchas, Ruth Lucero and husband Sammy of El Rito; God parents: Nestor and Cipia Dominguez; sisters-in-law: Crusita Romero and husband Filimon of Truchas and Elsie Barela of Truchas; numerous other loving relatives and friends. Public visitation will be held on Sunday, January 29, 2012 at 5:00 p.m. in the Sangre de Cristo Chapel at DeVargas Funeral Home & Crematory with a devotional to follow at 6:00 p.m. Funeral service will be held on Monday, January 30, 2012 at 11:00 a.m. in the Sangre de Cristo Chapel at DeVargas Funeral Home & Crematory with burial to follow at Los Llanitos Cemetery in Truchas with the following serving as pallbearers: Monique, Brandon, Loren, Patrick, Samantha, Serena, Derrick and Timothy.
