Lorraine - Age 79 - Lyden - Valdez

Lorraine Valdez, 79, a resident of Lyden passed away on Friday, July 23, 2010 following a lengthy illness. She was preceded in death by her husband, Ben Valdez; grandson Angelo Montoya; parents, Jose Adel and Bernardita Valdez; brothers, Tito Valdez and Bernardo Valdez. She is survived by her children, Phillip Valdez and wife JoAnna of Velarde, Lelande Valdez Sr. of Velarde, Evelyn Esquibel and husband Juan of Los Luceros, Prescilla Montoya of Santa Cruz; sister, Dolores Martinez and husband Arturo of Velarde; brother, Eugene Valdez and wife Georgia; grandson, Andy Valdez and wife Alicia of Arizona and their children Samantha Valdez, Elizabeth Valdez and Mia Valdez; granddaughter, Amanda Valdez and great grandson, Mariano Valdez of Los Luceros, Felisha Martinez and companion Jose Maestas of San Juan and their children Destany and Dennis Maestas Lucero; sisters-in-law, Mary Valdez, Anita Valdez both of Velarde; close sister-in-law, Susie Salazar and husband Eppie; and many other loving brothers and sisters-in-law; special care takers, Sherrie, Angie and others. She is also survived by numerous nephews, nieces and other loving relatives and friends. Public visitation will begin on Sunday, July 25, 2010 at 5:30 p.m. in the Sangre de Cristo Chapel of DeVargas Funeral Home & Crematory with a rosary to be recited at 6:00 p.m. Mass of Christian burial to be celebrated on Monday, July 26, 2010 at 11:00 a.m. at the Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church in Velarde. Burial to follow at the Velarde Catholic Cemetery with the following serving as pallbearers, Justin and Andrew Salazar, Johnny Martinez, David Valdez, Leon Martinez, Jose A. Valdez. Honorary pallbearers named are, Amanda Valdez and Felicia Martinez. The family of Lorraine Valdez has entrusted the care of their loved one to DeVargas Funeral Home & Crematory of the Española Valley.\r\n
