LORENZA BAROS (LAURA QUINTANA), 85, a resident of Santo Niño, passed away on Wednesday, December 10, 2014 following a brief illness. She was preceded in death by her parents, Matias and Josepha Sanchez; sister, Cristina Duran; brother, Blas Sanchez; husband, Armando Baros; grandson, Jose Sanchez; great-granddaughter, Marissa De La Torre; great-great-granddaughter, Joy Padilla. She worked and lived in Las Vegas, Nevada for 30 years. She loved the Rio Arriba County Senior Center. She enjoyed dancing and mingling and enjoyed (mitote) with all her friends at the center. Laura is survived by her daughters, Dyna Padilla, Claudette Brown, Virginia Maestas and Mary Frances Sanchez; brother, Vicente Sanchez; grandchildren, Steve Padilla (Becky), Troy Padilla (Evelyn), Jonathan Brown (Christy), Christina De La Torre (Steve), Samuel Maestas (Emily), Mario Maestas (April), Armando Ray Sanchez (Anita) and Carlos Sanchez (Emily); great-grandchildren, Linda Padilla (Nathan), Steve Padilla, Jr., Troy Padilla, Jr. (Melanie), Aaron Padilla, Summer Brown, Izabella and Zachary De La Torre, Samuel Maestas, Alissa Maestas; her twinkies, Arianna and Mario Maestas, Maddie Sanchez, Xavier Sanchez; great-great-grandchildren, Jazlynn and Darius Padilla; special friends, Emma Lopez, Jenny Hargrove and numerous other relatives and friends. Public visitation will begin on Friday, December 12, 2014 at 6:00 p.m. in the Sangre de Cristo Chapel of DeVargas Funeral Home & Crematory with a wake to follow at 7:00 p.m. Mass of Christian burial to be celebrated on Saturday, December 13, 2014 at 10:00 a.m. at La Iglesia de Santa Cruz de la Cañada. Burial to follow at the Holy Cross Catholic Cemetery in Santa Cruz with the following serving as pallbearers, Steve Padilla, Troy Padilla, Armando Ray Sanchez, Carlos Sanchez, Samuel Maestas, Christina De La Torre, Jonathan Brown and Mario Maestas. Honorary pallbearer Jose Sanchez. Laura’s family would like to express their appreciation to her caretakers, Celina Duran a special niece, and Becky Padilla a granddaughter and countless others. A special thank you to Ambercare in Española, the Rio Arriba County Senior Center, her special place, and to all of you for all your prayers.
