Loren Pacheco

Loren Pacheco, 72, a resident of Espanola, passed away peacefully surrounded by her loving family on Thursday, January 17, 2019.  She was preceded in death by her beloved children, Jackie Pacheco Ciskowski and Roland Pacheco; beloved mother and father, Anita and Amarante Romero; her precious sisters, Linda Franco and Angie Arguello, her brothers, Felix and John Romero; her loving nephew and Godson, Eliseo Ortega.

Loren will always be remembered as a hard-working, generous, self-motivated person who treasured family above all. One of her proudest accomplishments came when she moved to California in the late 60’s.  In addition to helping assemble computer memory for the moon missions, she wired the recording consoles for Dean Martin, the Partridge Family, and the Henry Mancini Orchestra.  But she was proudest of the one for Bobby Sherman.  He would even drop by the recording studio to see her.  Loren moved back to New Mexico, worked briefly at the Los Alamos National Laboratory and after retiring from the State of New Mexico, started her own business, Loren’s Tax Service.

We will miss Loren dearly but in the midst of our pain, we know that she is now re-united with her beautiful children and is at peace in God’s loving and warm embrace. Loren is survived by her loving grandson, Jeffrey Pacheco; her son-in-law, Marvin Ciskowski; sisters, Lillian Lopez, Mary Garcia and Patsy (Pat) Roybal; brothers, Tito and Nelson (Esther) Romero, and many loving nieces, nephews and extended family.

A rosary will be recited on Saturday, January 26, 2019 at 9:00 a.m. at La Iglesia de Santa Cruz de la Canada, with a Memorial Mass to be celebrated at 10:00 a.m., burial will follow at Loma Vista Cemetery in Alcalde. Serving the family as pallbearers are Jeffrey Pacheco, Marvin Ciskowski, Juan Romero, Jerome Romero, Adam Roybal and Cameron Franco.  Everyone is invited to join us at a reception following the services. Location will be announced at the church or you may access the information in the DeVargas Funeral Home Website.  The family of Loren Pacheco has entrusted their loved one to the DeVargas Funeral Home & Crematory of the Española Valley.
