Lois Marie Coover, born July 10, 1926 in Harrisburg, Pa. the only living child of Paul L. and Evelyn M. Coover. She is survived by cousins Doris and Lloyd in Pa. and Adaline in Florida. Also her very close friend Ruth Dunn in Española, NM. Lois attended public schools and Central Pa. business college in Harrisburg, Pa. after which she served as secretary to the owner of Shell Seed Co. During this time she had a special friend for many years who had dedicated her life to serve as the Nurse Anesthetist in the then Mission Hospital in Espanola. Through their correspondence Lois learned of the need of an Accountant Bookkeeper, and after applying for the position she arrived on September 14, 1950 to serve in this position. She served for 41 years, retiring on September 27, 1991. After retiring the members of the Hospital Auxiliary named her as a member of their organization, knowing of her interest in knitting they persuaded her to make baby caps for the newborns at the hospital. Since then she has continued knitting and over the years has knitted approximately 2 dozen caps per month.
