Lloyd Ortiz- 58, Dixie Ortiz- 53, Steven Ortiz – 21, residents of El Rancho passed away unexpectedly on Sunday, June 19, 2011. Lloyd was a prominent businessman throughout many parts of the country. He was a successful tile contractor, much of his beautiful work can be found in Northern New Mexico. Dixie was Activities Director at Sombrillo Nursing & Rehabilitation in Los Alamos, and that was her passion, working with the elderly and disabled. Steven was a self taught drummer. He had a passion for 4-wheeling, fishing and restoring cars with his dad. Lloyd, Dixie and Steven are much loved & will be dearly missed. They were preceded in death by grandson/nephew, Jesus Rios; Lloyd’s brother, Manuel Ortiz; Lloyd’s father, Carlos Ortiz; Dixie’s father, Savern “Bud” Watson. They are survived by Lloyd and Dixie’s daughters & Steven’s sister’s: Cherie Ortiz-Rios and husband Jesse of El Rancho, Angela Ortiz-Spinks and husband Kris of Arroyo Seco; Steven’s brothers and sisters; Audra, Felicia, Cedrick and Jeremiah. Lloyd and Dixie’s grandchildren & Steven’s nephews/nieces: Robert Lloyd Rios, Catalina Grace Rios, Destiny Neveah Spinks, Morgan Andrea Spinks, Beliah Carlos Spinks and Jordan Aubrey Spinks; Lloyd’s brothers/sisters & Steven’s uncles/aunts: Art Gonzales, Charles Gonzales and wife Florence, David Gonzales and wife Mary, Paul Gonzales, Daniel Gonzales and wife Christina, Steve Gonzales, Dyanne Gonzales and husband Robert Hageroort, Ben Gonzales, Charlene Maltese and husband Mike, Annette Sanchez and husband Alex and Sylvia Ortiz; Dixie’s brothers/sisters & Steven’s uncles/aunts: Richard Watson, John Watson, Steve Watson and wife Eileen, Mary Watson, Michael Watson and wife Kay; Lloyd’s mother & Steven’s grandmother: Kathy Ortiz of Jaconita; Dixie’s mother & Steve’s grandmother: Gene Watson of Santa Fe; Steven’s grandparents, Gertrude and Orlando Santana of Santa Fe; Steven’s great-grandmother, Juanita Montoya. Public visitation will be held on Thursday, June 30, 2011 at 6:00 p.m. at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church in Pojoaque with Rosary to follow at 7:00 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday, July 1, 2011 at 10:00 a.m. at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church in Pojoaque. In lieu of flowers the family requests donations to assist with funeral costs. Donations may be made in the Ortiz Family Memorial Fund at any Well’s Fargo location.
