Lizzie Jaramillo, 94, a resident of Los Luceros passed away on Tuesday, September 24, 2013 with her loving family by her side following a lengthy illness. She was preceded in death by her husband; Leo Jaramillo, son; Joseph Jaramillo, granddaughter; Julie Jaramillo, and parents; Edwardo and Josephine Maestas. Lizzie was a devoted wife, mother, sister, grandmother and great-grandmother whom she raised many as her own. Throughout her life she maintained an active involvement with the Catholic faith. Her home life and strong religious background was her dedication to becoming the loving mother figure and Catholic in her community. She will be dearly missed by all those who knew and loved her. Lizzie is survived by her daughter, Josephine Owen of Albuquerque; daughter-in-law, Annie Jaramillo of Chili; grandchildren, Michael and Kyle Gonzales of Albuquerque, Justin Owen and spouse Vanessa of Albuquerque, Danielle McCarthy and spouse Ryan of Albuquerque, Joseph Jaramillo and spouse Alisha of Española, Brian Duke of Tularosa, April Gallegos and spouse Eric of Santa Fe, Gidget Garcia of Española, Louise Martinez of Chili; great-grandchildren, Anna Jaramillo, Leah and Rory McCarthy, Adalynn Owen, Issac Duran, Jonathan and Marie Salazar, plus loving brothers, sisters, nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. A memorial service will be held on Sunday, October 13, 2013 @ 7:00 p.m. in the Sangre de Cristo Chapel of DeVargas Funeral Home & Crematory with a memorial mass to be held on Monday, October 14, 2013 at 11:00 a.m. at the St. John the Baptist Catholic church in Ohkay Owingeh, with the following family members serving as pallbearers, Michael and Kyle Gonzales, Ryan McCarthy and Justin Owen.
