Linda Rose Vigil

It is with a broken heart that we announce the sudden passing of our beautiful, Linda R. Vigil, 63 of Espanola, NM, on April 18, 2024, two days before her 64th Birthday. 

Linda was welcomed into heaven by her daughter, Crystal Garcia, parents Felix and Erminia Garcia, siblings, Gilbert, Anthony, Rudy and Fabian Garcia, Manuel, Ruben and Cisnel Martinez, son in law Percy Espinoza, mother-in-law Elena Vigil and many other loved family and friends.

Linda was the life of every party and her smile and laugh would light up the darkest of days. She was the kindest and most beautiful person inside and out. Linda was a caring and trusting person which shined through while she ran her daycare and later in life as a personal caregiver. Ruben was forever grateful for the love and compassion she showed his mother in her final years. She enjoyed her time and made lifelong friendships at Del Norte Credit Union and Trujillo’s Hallmark, lunch breaks with Linda were always memorable. Linda experienced many storms throughout her life but her joyful personality and her ability to look at the positive in every situation got her and her loved ones through them all. She was strong and always saw the beauty in everything. She loved going for drives and soaked in every minute of nature's beauty, especially as the seasons changed. She loved to host family barbecues and always had a joke for anyone she welcomed into her home. She was a devoted sister to her brothers and would do anything and everything for them, they never had to ask her twice. 

Linda leaves behind her loving husband, Ruben Vigil, her devoted son Randy Garcia and wife Camila, grandchildren, Isaiah and Mariah Espinoza and Kalista Garcia, brother Ernest Garcia and wife Carol. Her best friends were like sisters, Pauline Valdez and Tommy Martinez. She also leaves behind her stepchildren Manny Vigil and wife Anna, Ruben James, Evangeline, Kristy and Angelica Vigil. Her sisters-in-law Edalia "Dolli" Lucero and Donelia "Donna" Romero and many nieces, nephews, friends and loved ones.

Public Visitation will be Sunday, April 28, 2024, at 6:00 pm at DeVargas Funeral Home, with Rosary to follow at 7:00 pm. Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated on Monday, April 29, 2024, at 12:00 noon at Sacred Heart of Jesus Church in Espanola, NM, with burial to follow at Sacred Heart of Jesus Cemetery.

Honoring Linda and carrying her to her final resting place will be her stepson’s Manny and Ruben James Vigil, nephew Thomas Martinez, nephew and Godson Julian Herrera, close family friends Nathan Abeyta and Pete Martinez. Honorary pallbearers, her god son Fabian Garcia, Goddaughter Faith Abeyta, nieces Christina and Claire Garcia, close friends Azalea Espinoza and Lupe Martinez.
