Linda Garcia

Linda M. Garcia, 72, of Hernandez went home to our dear Lord and to her son on Thursday, January 20, 2022. Linda was born on December 12, 1949, in El Guique NM to the late Jose Cecilio and Josina Herrera.

She was preceded in death by her concentido her son Steve “Hollywood” Garcia; parents Jose Cecilio and Josina Herrera; sister Cecilia Herrera; father and mother-in-law Antonio “Tony” and Antonia “Antonina” Garcia; bothers-in-law Fernando Garcia and Fidel “Fiddles” Martinez; nephews Patrick Martinez Jr., John “Manz” Lucero, and Alvin “Albino” Martinez.

She is survived by her loving husband of 49 years Leroy Garcia of Hernandez;  sons Ross (Alberta) Garcia and Matthew (Leona) Garcia; grandchildren Clarabelle, Josiah, Jacob Albert, Gabriel, Angelica, Alexandria and Marshall Garcia, Ambrosia Garcia (Diego); great-granddaughter Bobbie Kay Alexandria; brother Lino Sr (Barbara) Herrera; sister Viola Moe; sisters-in-law Rosita Martinez, Jane (George) Sandoval, Irene (Lee) Romero, Vicky Martinez (Jesus), Anita (Cruz) Guerra, Brenda Garcia; brothers-in-law Isaac (Lucy) Garcia, Anthony (Ted) Garcia, Manuel (Elvia) Garcia; Goddaughter Charlene (David) Padilla; close cousin Florence Gallegos; very special friend and caretaker Cathy Aragon; and lifelong friends Drucie Herrera, Vera Vigil, Martha Martinez and Mary Montoya.

A public visitation will begin on Friday February 4, 2022 at 5:00 p.m. with a rosary to follow at 6:00 p.m. in the Sangre de Cristo Chapel of DeVargas Funeral Home & Crematory. Mass of Christian Burial will be on Monday February 7, 2022 at 10:30 a.m. at the San Jose Catholic Church in Hernandez with a burial to follow at the San Jose Catholic Cemetery.

Serving as pallbearers are Manuel Garcia, Jesus Marta, Lee Romero Sr., George Sandoval, David Padilla, Cruz Guerra, Isaac Garcia Jr., and Lino Herrera Jr. Honorary pallbearers are her grandchildren and great-granddaughter.
