Linda Garcia

Linda Garcia 66, of Peñasco, passed away on Wednesday, May 15, 2019.  Linda was preceded in death by her parents, Eddie and Mary Lovato, her sister Helen and her father-in-law Daniel Garcia.  Linda was born September 17, 1952 in Alamosa, CO and was raised in Ojo Caliente.  She retired from the U.S. Postal Service where she worked for many years at the Santa Cruz Post Office.  Linda was a kind, gentle person who enjoyed spending time with her family, weaving, baking, cake decorating, and going to movies.  Throughout her life she was a frequent volunteer at the local schools and the catholic church in Peñasco.

She is survived by her husband of 47 years, Michael Garcia; daughters Andrea Solin and Patricia Garcia; sons Danny Garcia (Victoria) and Matthew Garcia; grandchildren Alexandra and Jacob Solin, Maria Tafoya, twins Everly and Felicity, and Daniel Garcia; Sister Barbara Lovato; brothers Leroy, Johnny (Pat), Fred (Karla), James, and Ricky Lovato; Mother-in-law Delia Garcia; and many sisters and brothers-in-law, uncles, aunts, nieces, nephews and cousins.

Public visitation will begin on Friday, May 17, 2019 at 6:30 p.m. in the Sangre de Cristo Chapel of DeVargas Funeral Home & Crematory, with a rosary to be recited at 7:00 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday, May 18, 2019 at 12:00 p.m.at St. Anthony's Catholic Church in Penasco, with a burial follow at the Rio Lucio Cemetery.
