LILLIAN MARIE MARTINEZ, 75, resident of La Puebla was called home to be with Our Lord on Tuesday, January 13, 2016. Lillian was preceded in death by her parents, Gilberto and Carolina Medina and sisters, Genoveva Montoya and Urbanita Rodriguez. Lillian was a loving and caring mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She was a humble and faithful woman. She was a member of the Holy Family Parish Choir for many years where she loved playing her guitar. She was an artist, she mastered weaving, tin smithing and straw applique and most recently jewelry making and painting. She loved to bowl and to travel. She enjoyed her outings with her friends and cousins. She also enjoyed sleepovers with her granddaughters. Words cannot describe how dearly she will be missed. Lillian is survived by her children, Liz Ronquillo and husband Richard of La Mesilla, Ana Martinez of La Puebla, Gilbert Martinez and wife Bernadette of Chili; grandchildren, Feliz and Analicia Ronquillo, David and Mireya Martinez, Cheyenne Cordova and Lindsey and Rosalie Martinez; great-grandchild, Xavior Martinez; very special nephew and niece, Leroy and Marlene Montoya; brothers, John Marcos Medina and wife Porfie of Albuquerque and Fred Medina and wife Frances of Chili; sister, Cordelia Vasquez and husband Leroy of Rawlins, Wyoming as well as many other family and friends. Public visitation will begin on Friday, January 15, 2016 at 6:00 p.m. in the Sangre de Cristo Chapel of DeVargas Funeral Home & Crematory with a rosary to be recited at 7:00 p.m. Mass of Christian burial to be celebrated on Saturday, January 16, 2016 at 10:00 a.m. at the Holy Family Catholic Church in Chimayo. Burial to follow at the Nuestra Señora de Dolores Cemetery in Chimayo with the following serving as pallbearers, Leroy Montoya, Chuck Martinez, Roland Rodriguez and John Medina. Honorary pallbearers will be all her grandchildren and her consentido, her great-grandson.
