Lillian M. Guillen

Lillian Maestas-Guillen, 80, resident of Alcalde, NM, passed away on September 16, 2023. Lillian was born on September 20, 1942, to Marcelina and Manuel Maestas. She was a loving Wife, Mother, Grandmother, Great Grandmother, Aunt and God mother as well as a friend to anyone she met and welcomed everyone into her home.  Lillian worked with the Espanola Public Schools as a teacher’s assistant.

Lillian is preceded in death by son William Eric Guillen; parents Manuel and Marcelina Maestas; in-laws Estephanita and Antonio Guillen; son-in-law Robert A. Vigil; brothers Cornelio Maestas, Israel Maestas and Richard Maestas; sisters Geraldine Arebalo and Felicita Vigil; sisters-in-law Rita Maestas, Clorinda Duda, Bernie Herrera, Clara Guillen and Nancy Guillen; brothers-in-law Albert Vigil, Ramon Naranjo, Clyde Guillen, Benny Guillen, Frank Guillen, Lorenzo Guillen and Martin Guillen, Harold Herrera, and Edward Duda.

Lillian is survived by her husband Antonio David Guillen of Alcalde, NM; daughters Veronica Guillen (Tony), Amanda Romero (Andy), Melanie Guillen-Montoya (Eloy) all of Alcalde, NM, Corina Vigil (Juan) of Espanola, NM; grandsons Derrick Aragon (Melissa), Anthony Valdez, Aaron Aragon, Michael Aragon (Carla), Jonathyn Montoya (John) all of Alcalde, NM, Matthew Vigil (LeeAnn) of Espanola, NM, granddaughters Kimberly Sanchez (Julian) of Lyden, NM, Erica Romero, Marlene Valdez (Chris), Kayla Romero (Carlos), Tamara Montoya, all of Alcalde, NM; great-grandson Christian, Adan, Billy, Isidro, Aayden, Adryan, Gabriel, Santos and Noah ; great-granddaughters Breanna, Lillianna, Arianna, Cattaleya, Porscha, Kyara and Elianna, sister Stella Naranjo, In Laws Ernestine Herrera, Richard Guillen (Maxine), Jose Herrera, Esperanza Guillen, Virginia Guillen and Fela Guillen, and many other relatives who loved her dearly.

A public visitation will be held on Tuesday, September 26, 2023, at 6:00 PM in the Sangre de Cristo Chapel at DeVargas Funeral Home in Espanola, NM. A rosary will follow at 7:00 PM. A second rosary will be held on September 27, 2023, at 9:30 AM at the St. Annes Catholic Church in Alcalde, NM. Mass will follow at 10:30 AM. Burial to follow at La Villita Catholic Cemetery in Alcalde, NM.
