Librado Valdivia

d. January 17, 2016

Librado (Leo) Valdivia, 67, a resident of Santa Fe, passed away on Sunday, January 17, 2016, surrounded by his loving wife and children. Leo was a deeply devout Christian, he both walked and talked what he believed.  Leo was preceded in death by his children, Jorge and Elizabeth; his mother, Julia Colmenero; and brother, Roberto. Leo was honored to be a member of Freedom church. Any church or place Leo went, he left his mark, and will never be forgotten. Leo loved reading all sorts of books and educating himself daily. He particularly loved reading the Bible and he studied it often. Leo was a true entrepreneur, he was always thinking of new ideas and never just settled on anything. He knew what being great was and strived for that daily. He loved playing guitar and singing and would often sing for his family at special occasions. Leo was also known as "Pop" to his sons.  He was such an amazing man and his light shines on through them. His greatest loves in life were his family and the Lord. We wanted to share Leo's favorite verse: "Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid or terrified because of them, for the LORD your God goes with you; he will never leave you nor forsake you." (Deuteronomy 31:6).  He is survived by his wife of 43 Years, Millie Valdivia; his sons, Roy and wife Sarah, Mark and girlfriend Teresa, Adam and wife Christina. He took particular delight in his grandchildren, Demitri, Illiana, Cassandra Segura, Joseph Segura, and Aubreyanna. Also surviving him are his brothers and sisters, Ubaldo Valdivia and wife Chela, Vicente Valdivia and wife Lourdes, Magdalena Aguilar and husband Ignacio, Julia Rivera, and Moises Colmenero.  A memorial service will be held at Freedom Church at 3732 Cerrillos Road, Santa Fe, NM 87507 on Friday, January 22, 2016 at 1:00 PM. The family of Librado (Leo) Valdivia has entrusted the care of their loved one to the DeVargas Funeral Home & Crematory of the Espanola Valley.
