Liberato Sanchez, 82, passed away on Friday, May 16, 2014. He was born to Petrolina Medina Sanchez and Barolin Sanchez on August 9, 1931. He was preceded in death by his parents Barolin and Petrolina Sanchez, his son Robert and infant daughter Celia. He was also proceeded in death by his sister Mary Gonzales, Brothers, Elifar and Reginaldo Sanchez, his In-laws, Leopoldo and Sofiria Garcia, and many other relatives. His wife, Celia of 61 years followed him to heaven on Saturday, May 17, 2014. Liberato is survived by his sons, Charlie (Brenda), Andie, Larry (Lucia), Moises (Linda), Reggie (Maria); grandson whom they raised Antonio; his daughters, Annabelle Baca (Anthony), Betsy Montano (Michael), Lorraine Padilla (Chad), Yolanda Sanchez-Chavez, Darlene Valdez (John), Christine Ramirez (Carlos); grandchildren, Antonio Sanchez, Timothy Sanchez, Karen Sanchez, Jose Maria Sanchez, Hilario Sanchez, Eliana Sanchez, Jesse Baca, Antoinette Baca, Joseph Montaño, Rosalie Montaño, Alexis Padilla, Alexander Chavez, Julian Chavez, Rodrigo Chavez, Joshua Valdez, Aaliyah Valdez, Macario Sanchez, Carmelita Sanchez, Charlene Cervantes, and Cashandra Cervantes, great-grandchildren, Jerome Sanchez, Julie Sanchez, Angelique Sanchez, and Alfred James (AJ) Romero; brothers and sisters, Adelina Garcia (Pete), Filiberto Sanchez (Edith), Efren Sanchez, Cleofas Gonzales (Johnny), Escolostico Sanchez (Rosanna), Bolivar Sanchez (Helen), Luis Sanchez (Violeta), and Merlyn Corbin (Richard); aunt, Belinda Medina; brothers and sisters-in-laws, Elfido Garcia (Mercy), Edith Sanchez (Filiberto), Arthur Garcia (Mary), Elosia Ortiz (Martin), Jose Ignacio Garcia (Isabell), Richard Garcia (Frances), Jerry Garcia (Josie), and many other relatives and friends. Public visitation will begin on Tuesday, May 20, 2014 at 6:00 p.m. in the Sangre de Cristo Chapel of DeVargas Funeral Home & Crematory, with a rosary to be recited at 7:00 p.m. A second rosary will be recited on Wednesday, May 21, 2014 at 7:00 p.m. at the San Antonio de Padua Catholic Church in Penasco. Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated on Thursday, May 22, 2014 at 10:00 a.m. at the San Antonio de Padua Catholic Church, with a burial to follow at the Morada de Llano de San Juan Cemetery, with the following serving as pallbearers Karen Sanchez, Rosalie Montaño, Alexis Padilla, Carmelita Sanchez, Charlene Cervantes, and Cashandra Cervantes, honorary pallbearers named are Eliana Sanchez, Antoinette Baca, Aaliyah Valdez, Julie Sanchez, and Angelique Sanchez. The family of Liberato Sanchez has entrusted the care of their loved one to the DeVargas Funeral Home & Crematory of the Española Valley.\r\n \r\n
