Leroy Sherwood

Leroy L. Sherwood, 62, a resident of La Puebla, formerly of Chimayo, passed away on Thursday, June 4, 2020.  He was preceded in death by his parents, Jack and Mabel Sherwood; siblings, Faustino Gilbert Sherwood and Dennis Sherwood; nephews, Robert Trujillo, and Kevin Romero. Leroy loved all kinds of foods and he was always ready to travel. Leroy’s favorite food were Enchilada, beans, spaghetti, mashed potatoes, fried potatoes, he loved avocados, coffee and Dr Pepper were his favorite and desserts of course. Leroy loved going on rides he was always ready to go somewhere "con un pie delante del otro" but he didn't care to be at places with loud noises. Leroy loved watching children playing but didn't care for anyone touching him unless he wanted you too n when he did he'd grab your hand pulling it towards his head & wanting you to pat his head & tell him how good of a boy/man he was n that made him happy. Leroy loved his stuffed animals but his favorite was Mickey Mouse and his Teddy Bears with colorful polka dots. Leroy also loved clocks but they had to be with silver rims because that was his favorite color and he was very smart he knew exactly what time breakfast, lunch and dinner was, so if you caught him looking at a clock it was for that reason. Leroy is survived by his siblings, Erma Montoya (Charlie), Carlos Sherwood, Judith Sherwood, Corrine Martinez (Jerry), Albert Sherwood, Debbie Sherwood, Della Sherwood, Wayne Sherwood, Patty Sherwood, Yolanda Sherwood (Jeremiah), Sammy Sherwood, and Mikey Sherwood and all of his nieces, nephews, family and friends. Funeral Service will be celebrated on at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday June 13, 2020 in the Sangre De Cristo Chapel of DeVargas Funeral Home.  Burial will take place at the Chimayo Presbyterian Cemetery. Serving the family as pallbearers are Mark A. Herrera, Casey M. Montoya IV, Urban Quintana, Samuel Romero, Robert Wayne Sherwood and Carlos Sherwood. The family of Leroy L.
