Leroy Aguilar

LEROY A. AGUILAR, 72, a resident of Las Trampas, passed away peacefully at his home surrounded by his family on Monday, July 2, 2018. He was preceded in death by his father, Anselmo Aguilar; brothers, Raymond and Nelson; twin sisters; in-laws, Enrique and Sofia Lopez. Leroy worked at the International Smelter and Refining Company in Tooele, Utah and Carson Hot Shots in Peñasco. He also served as a caretaker for the San Jose de Gracia Church in Las Trampas. He loved the outdoors, gardening and going for wood. Flowers were a great passion of his. He always had his daughters’ gardens beautifully landscaped. He was loved by many and will be greatly missed. Mr. Aguilar is survived by his mother, Oufelia Aguilar; wife of 53 years, Sarah; children, Tammy (Chris), Beverly (Ron), Angela, Gwendolyn (Anthony); grandchildren, Martin, Marissa, Anthony, Brian, Mariah, JD, Anthony, Brianna, Sarahlee, Jordan; great-grandchild, Jayden; God-children, JD, Laura Jean and Antonio; brothers, Horacio (Shirley), Steven, Louie (Mildred), Ricky (Durine) and sister, Dorothy Aguilar. Public visitation will begin on Friday, July 6, 2018 at 6:00 p.m. in the Sangre de Cristo Chapel of DeVargas Funeral Home & Crematory with a wake to follow at 7:00 p.m. Funeral Service to be held on Saturday, July 7, 2018 at 10:00 a.m. at the River of Life Church in Pojoaque. The meal will be served at River of Life gym with burial to follow at the Las Trampas Cemetery with the following serving as pallbearers, Clarence Vigil, Marissa Aguilar, Anthony Naranjo, Genevieve Fernandez, April Jo Aguilar, Ron Baca, Ricky Aguilar, Laura Jean Aguilar and Chris Castellano. Honorary pallbearers named are, Martin, JD, Jayden and Brian Aguilar, Mariah and Anthony Baca, Briannalee, Sarahlee, Anthony and Jordan Naranjo, and Steve Aguilar Jr. The family of Leroy A. Aguilar has entrusted their loved one to DeVargas Funeral Home & Crematory of the Española Valley.
