Leroy - Age 64 - Santa Fe Benavidez

Leroy Benavidez – Age 64 – a of Santa Fe passed away on Friday, September 10, 2010 after a courageous battle with cancer. Leroy was an avid football fan, always ready to cheer on his favorite team, The San Francisco 49ers. Leroy embraced life in all that he did. He never took for granted the simple pleasures and always greeted friends with his signature “Hey Kiddo.” Leroy was preceded in death by his son, Bill and his mother Molly Benavidez. Leroy is survived by his son and best friend, Roy Lee Benavidez; daughter, Linda Banks; father, Tony Benavidez; sisters: Iris Salazar and husband Donald, Arlyne Walsh and husband Gilbert, and many nieces, nephews & friends. Leroy is also survived by a very special grandson, Eugene “Gino” Maez. A Rosary will be recited on Thursday, September 16, 2010 at 6:00 p.m. in the Chapel of Peace at the DeVargas Funeral Home & Crematory.
