Leonard W. Norris

\r\n \r\n \r\n \r\n Leonard W. Norris “Dagwood” – Age 94, a resident of La Mesilla passed away on Tuesday, March 9, 2010 following a brief illness. He was preceded in death by his son, Ronnie Norris; parents: Fred and Alice Norris; several loving brothers and sisters; and 1 grandson, Mark Romero. Mr. Norris retired from the Zia Company in Los Alamos after 35 years of service, was a member of the Manhattan Project and a member of the Pipefitters Union #412 for almost 60 years. He was a devoted husband and loving father and grandfather. He is survived by his wife of 76 years & 3 months, Opal Norris of La Mesilla; children: Nelda Romero and husband Severiano “Sev” of La Mesilla, Don Norris and wife Karen of La Mesilla, Tom Norris and wife Sharon of Albuquerque and Randy Norris and wife Betty of La Villita; brothers and sisters: Nadine Coburn of Texas, Eudene Bolsinger of Oklahoma, E.E. “Buddy” Norris and wife Margaret of Texas and Billie Ruth of Oklahoma; 6 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren and 3 loving adopted great-grandchildren; 1 great-great grandson; and numerous other relatives and friends. Public visitation will be held on Friday, March 12, 2010 from 7:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. in the Sangre de Cristo Chapel of DeVargas Funeral Home & Crematory. Funeral service will be held on Saturday, March 13, 2010 at 11:00 a.m. in the Sangre de Cristo Chapel of DeVargas Funeral Home & Crematory. Burial will be held on Saturday, March 13, 2010 at 1:00 p.m. at the Memorial Gardens Cemetery in Santa Fe with the following serving as pallbearers: Scott Norris, Tracy Norris, Monica Rains, Valerie Laramore, Matthew Wade, Aaron Gonzales, Cindy Wade and Lisa Gonzales. Serving as honorary pallbearers will be: Candice Espinoza and Devine Gonzales. The family of Leonard W.
