Leonard C. Tapia, 73, a resident of Santa Clara Pueblo passed away from a short illness on Wednesday, April 11, 2012. He was a 19 year Navy Veteran. Leonard was preceded in death by his wife, Ramoncita Tapia; son, Larry Tapia; parents, Ernest and Belen Tapia. Leonard is survived by his wife Angela Talache-Tapia of Ohkay Owingeh; daughters: Michelle Tafoya and husband Stanley of Santa Clara Pueblo and their children: Jerome and Jonathon Tafoya of Santa Clara Pueblo; Sarah Tapia of Santa Clara Pueblo and her children: Regis and Allen Armijo of Santa Ana Pueblo; great-grandson, Ian Armijo of Santa Ana Pueblo; brothers: Benny, Frank, Floyd and Paul Tapia; sisters: Anita Suazo, Anna Archuleta and Grace Tapia; goddaughters: Ernestine Naranjo, Naomi Tafoya and Fauna Gutierrez; godson, Elgin Whiteman; numerous other loving relatives & friends. Rosary will be recited on Friday, April 13, 2012 at 7:00 p.m. at the Tapia Residence. Funeral service will be held on Saturday, April 14, 2012 at 9:00 a.m. at the Santa Clara Pueblo Catholic Church with burial to follow at Santa Clara Pueblo Catholic Cemetery with the family serving as pallbearers.
