\r\n \r\nLeonard James Trujillo, 45, a resident of Cordova, passed away unexpectedly from a lengthy illness on Saturday, January 11, 2014. He was preceded in death by his maternal grandma, Barbara Trujillo, paternal grandparents, Saiz and Ermelinda Trujillo, beloved sister, Karen Trujillo, beloved brother, Gary Trujillo; uncles, Joe, Meliton, and Ricky Trujillo, aunt, Sylvia Cordova. Leonard was a graduate from Española Valley High School in 1986. He was a very smart person and loved his schooling. He got many scholarships to many countries. He explored this country; he obtained his BA in Environmental Sciences from Standford University in 1990. He then continued his academic achiements by his continuous employment with the Los Alamos National Laboratory. Leonard had a heart of gold always willing to help anyone in need. He will be greatly missed by all those who knew and loved him. Leonard is survived by his parents who he loved dearly which whom they were his rock Olevio and Ruby Trujillo, maternal grandfather, Petacio Trujillo; sister, Nicole Diaz and husband Emmanuel, niece, Demariz Lindzee Diaz whom he loved dearly; aunt and uncle, Eddie and Geneva Romero, Porfirio, William, and Donald Trujillo all of Cordova, paternal aunts and uncles, Polita and Armando Pacheco of Cordova, Corrine and Salomon Talamante of Chile, Nancy and Bobby Martinez of Tierra Azul, Annabel and Paul Gonzales of El Guique, Mary and companion Jerry of Truchas, Dora Solis of Española, Patty and companion Roger of Española, Beverly Montoya of Grants, a very special best friend who he loved dearly, Geraldine Martinez of Peñasco, close cousin Berlinda Trujillo of Chimayo, great-aunt, Sabinita Herrera of Truchas, and many other relatives and friends. Public visitation will begin on Thursday, January 16, 2014 at 6:00 p.m. in the Chapel of Peace of Devargas Funeral Home & Crematory, with a devotional service to follow at 7:00 p.m. Graveside services will be held on Friday, January 17, 2014 at 11:00 a.m. at St. Anthony’s cemetery in Cordova.
