Lena Age - 91 Santa Fe Archuleta

Lena Archuleta, Age 91 – a resident of Santa Fe, New Mexico was taken from our midst on Saturday, February 26, 2011 surrounded by family and friends at her home. She was born in Velarde, New Mexico on February 5, 1920. Lena loved to be with and take care of her grandchildren & loved to cook and bake. She was preceded in death by her parents, Romanita and Francisco Martinez; her husband of 58 years, Max Archuleta; son, Samuel A. Archuleta; brothers and sisters: Tonita Herrera, Nicholas Martinez, Simmie Valdez, Rafaelita, Rosendo, Joe and Aniceto Martinez. Lena is survived by her daughter Lillian Calkins and husband Noel; daughter Cindy Archuleta; daughter-in-law, Viola Archuleta; grandchildren: Thaddea Bergen, Michael Archuleta, Joseph Archuleta, Judy Garcia and husband Gilbert and Allen Herrera; great-grandchildren: A.J. Archuleta, Samantha P. Bergan, Brandon Archuleta, J.J. Carley, Allen Herrera, Jr. and Jordan Garcia; special nieces and nephews; goddaughter, Joann Olivas; and a host of friends, neighbors and relatives. The family is greatful to Dr. Trone; nurses: Mary Feidt, Susan, and Margarita, and the aides of Ambercare Hospice of Santa Fe. Tender and loving care was also administered by her personal caregiver, Hilda Himme. Lena will be sorely missed by her family and friends. Cremation has taken place. A memorial service will be held on Friday, March 4, 2011 at 10:00 a.m. at the St. Francis Cathedral in Santa Fe. The family of Lena Archuleta have entrusted the care of their loved one to DeVargas Funeral Home & Crematory of the Española Valley.
